Stop Overpaying for Diesel

Start Saving with WEX.

CONTEXT

The 10-4 by WEX app is a free mobile application designed to help independent truckers save money on diesel fuel.

PROBLEM:

Truck drivers lacked an easy, secure way to manage fuel payments and track savings.

Load Your Wallet. Fuel Your Journey.

I designed this payment flow to make funding the wallet seamless, intuitive, and trustworthy, directly addressing driver pain points around speed, clarity, and confidence.”

From Sketch to Screen

Once the user flows and structure were validated through low-fidelity wireframes, I moved into high-fidelity designs to define the final look and feel. At this stage, I focused on applying brand colors, typography, spacing, and interaction patterns that matched the design system, ensuring visual consistency across the app. By annotating components, clarifying button states, and aligning layouts with responsive behavior, I provided developers with a clear blueprint that minimized ambiguity.

Sketch First, Perfect Later

I started with low-fidelity wireframes in my design process because they let me focus on the core structure and user flow without getting distracted by visual polish. This approach also made collaboration with developers much smoother, they could clearly see the intended functionality and system logic early on, which helped us align on feasibility, flag technical constraints, and avoid rework later in the process.
